This Privacy Policy explains how defi.finance (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information when you visit our website and use our DeFi analytics tools. defi.finance is a free, informational analytics product. We do not require you to create an account, and we never ask for your private keys or seed phrases.
1. Information we collect
No account, no personal profile. You can browse the entire site without registering, signing in, or providing any personal details such as your name or email address.
Usage and analytics data. Like most websites, we collect limited technical information automatically — for example your browser type, device and screen size, approximate location (derived from IP address), referring page, and the pages you view. This is used in aggregate to understand traffic and improve the product.
Server logs. Our infrastructure providers temporarily record standard request logs (IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent) for security, abuse prevention, and reliability.
We do not connect to your wallet, and we do not collect, store, or transmit private keys, seed phrases, or signed transactions.
2. Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregate, anonymized usage. It may set cookies or similar identifiers on your device to distinguish unique visitors and sessions.
Analytics cookies are not set until you consent. We use Google Consent Mode: by default, analytics storage is disabled, and Google Analytics only writes cookies after you choose “Accept” in our cookie banner. If you decline, no analytics cookies are stored. Either choice gives you full access to every feature of the site.
You can change your decision at any time by clearing this site’s stored preference (or all cookies) in your browser, which brings the banner back. You may also use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
We do not use cookies for advertising profiling or to track you across other websites.
3. How we use information
We use the limited information described above to operate, maintain, and improve the site; to understand which features and pages are useful; to detect, prevent, and respond to abuse, security incidents, and technical problems; and to comply with legal obligations.
4. Third-party services and data sources
DeFi metrics shown on the site (TVL, yields, prices, stablecoin and chain data, market sentiment) are sourced from third-party providers and public on-chain data. Those figures are provided “as is” and may be delayed or inaccurate.
We rely on third-party processors to run the service, including analytics (Google Analytics) and hosting / content delivery and security (including a CDN provider). These providers process technical data on our behalf under their own terms and privacy policies.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
We may share limited technical data with the service providers described above strictly to operate the site, or where required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and our service.
6. Data retention
We retain server logs and aggregate analytics only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, after which they are deleted or anonymized. Third-party processors retain data according to their own retention schedules.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU/UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) — including the right to access, correct, or delete information about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing.
Because we do not maintain accounts and collect only limited, largely anonymized technical data, we may be unable to identify you within our records. To exercise any right, contact us using the details below and we will respond as required by applicable law.
8. International data transfers
We and our service providers may process data in countries other than the one in which you live. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
9. Children’s privacy
The site is not directed to children and is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited data we handle. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here; your continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
12. Contact
